Who we are

The Naval, Military and Air Force Club of South Australia is a premier private Club in Adelaide that welcomes both men and women from varying backgrounds, including the professions, private industry, and government.

Although once for gentlemen only, the Club has admitted ladies as members since the 1970s, and it strives to remain relevant to society’s changing values.  Supported by a courteous, stable and efficient staff, the Club welcomes members who appreciate its history and share its values irrespective of their cultural, ethnic or gender backgrounds or alignment.

The Club is located within a heritage-listed town mansion and offers comfortable and elegant surroundings where members and their guests come together to relax and socialise.  The premises includes an attractive, spacious and well-maintained garden that provides an ideal setting for private functions such as garden parties, receptions and weddings.

The needs of members are met through engagement with various activities ranging from billiards to book clubs and mahjong to sporting guns, through to history, recital and theatre nights, casual dining, wine lunches and formal dining-in nights that reflect the Club’s customs and traditions.

Members of the Club identify with its ‘home away from home’ ambience, respect its values and traditions, and appreciate the relevance of the Club motto Pro Aris et Focus – ‘For hearth and home’.
