About the event

Woodstock Estate owns some of the oldest vineyards in McLaren Vale, with their flagship 'The Stocks' Vineyard planted circa 1900 , a bush vine Grenache  was planted in 1930, and even their 'young' vineyards being planted in the early 1970-80s. To capture the essence of McLaren Vale , Woodstock strive for absolute quality, begining in their old vineyards, through every phase of winemaking , to the wines before you.

Although not yet certified organic, their vines are treated with minimal impact sprays and no pesticides. They tend their vine canopies by hand, and if requiredthe vines are leaf plucked or crop thinned to ensure even ripening and good concentration of berry flavours.

They believe in capturing natural acidity and fresh grape characters in their wines and rose. Woodstock reds are all about smooth tannins and purity of fruit. As grape tannins age on vines, they become less bitter making their wines softer. Woodstock reds are soft and approachable when young, yet with structure  to age with cellaring.
