Topic: 'SOUTH AUSTRALIA UNDER SIEGE – THE SPANISH FLU 1919-1920
Guest Speaker: Rita Bogna
The German Spring Offensive on the Western Front had just begun when a novel influenza virus appeared in 1918. What became known as the ‘Spanish flu’ would prove to be far deadlier than any man-made weapons of war. It would kill more people, both civilians and men and women in service, in a period of less than 12 months than
the Great War in more than four years.
