Since its inception the knowledge, operation and results of Sigint have been known only to those who possessed a Top Secret security clearance, were briefed on the security requirements and had signed an Official Secrets undertaking to preserve the knowledge of Sigint. It is fortunate that post the Vietnam War, and various Freedom of Information Acts, much more of the activity and results of Sigint and EW have been released.
