Topic: The Unique and Amazing Story of the Ursus Soldier of World War II (Paws at Monte Cassino)

Guest Speaker: Dr Beata Byok MB,BS, GDOH, FAFOEM (RACP), MAICD

There were many stories of heroism during World War II but this story is both fascinating and unique, and truly amazing, yet also provides insights into conditions endured by allied soldiers and extends beyond the confines of war, touching on the post war experience of some of those soldiers, especially our story’s hero. While they fought in many battles the story will particularly mention the campaign to win the Italian monastery of Monte Cassino, on the route to Rome.
