The war in Ukraine has had a devastating effect on the people of Ukraine, it’s infrastructure and, in particular, it’s health system. The scale of the humanitarian crisis is staggering, and the number and severity of the combat casualties is unlike anything seen since the Second World War. The Ukrainian civilian and military medical system has risen to the challenge, but the strain is immense.
Our guest speaker for this year’s Health Services dinner is Dr Craig Jurisevic. Craig spent 5 months in Ukraine and will detail his experiences from front line tactical medic training, damage control surgery in Role 2E military surgical units, and definitive surgical treatment in a regional Role 3 unit.
