About the event
The Club's Bomber Command Dinner gives an opportunity to commemorate those Australians who have served in bombers in the RAAF, Australian Flying Corps, the RFC, and the RAF. Our guest speaker is Emeritus Professor Henry d’Assumpcao AO CJSJ ME (Adel). Professor d’Assumpcao, the Chief Defence Scientist of Australia (1987-1990) is the co-inventor of the Barra Sono-Buoy and the Kariwara towed array. Professor d'Assumpcao will address the ever pertinent topic ‘Civilians in War, Strategic bombing and its impact on civilians’.
