The Battle of Trafalgar Night Dinner is a significant formal dining-in night on your Club calendar, commemorating one of the Navy’s most decisive victories. On 21 October 1805, Vice Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson led the Royal Navy to victory over the combined French and Spanish fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar; a victory that shaped the future of Great Britain, the Royal Navy and the free world for unhindered passage across the world’s oceans for the next century and a half; the war at sea was over.

This pre-eminent annual occasion, held in Naval Wardrooms ashore and afloat around the world, will be commemorated this year on 24 October in your Club. A formal dining-in night will honour Admiral Lord Nelson’s victory, his death and those of his men in battle, the enduring legacy of freedom and rite of passage of the seas.
