This was the first Naval battle in the SW Pacific consisting of a series of engagements which took place in the Coral Sea between the 4 - 8 May, 1942.
Hear about events which led to this first NAVAL engagement(s) of the War in the Pacific, how they were conducted and what the outcomes meant for Japan, the United States and Australia, and our century long defense alliance with the USA.
The “Battle in the Coral Sea” was a precursor to ending the Japanese expansion further south-ward and their planned invasion of Australia.
